Oh neat, you subscribe to the school of thought where the present (apparently as literal as the past month) is all that matters to the state of anything at all. And even if something has an extremely bloody history the same as other things...if that stopped for some reasons (which we will happily not explore), well none of that matters because right now its good and fine. So its retroactively good and fine too.
This is a cool practice we can apply in many ways!

Germany though, now there's a happy democratic pluralistic society! Truly it is impossible that Germany could ever be anything like that Syria! I mean whose ever heard of a authoritarian bloody monsterous Germany....over the last month!
I think we can call this "Argument from Selective Amnesia".
