@brokizoli You're assuming it's the politicians who need equal rights. To be fair, I think most people who support this policy think so too...
But no, the benefit is supposed to be for the people being governed. Men and women tend to have different approaches and priorities, so splitting the power more or less equally between them makes for a more flexible and nuanced governance, as well as one that more accurately represents the electorate (which is, after all, split about 50/50 between the sexes without any need for gender quotas ;) ).
