@Tressa it's not. If you go to the deep South from somewhere like Seattle or Boston (both of which suffer from HORRIBLE homeless problems) it feels like you stepped into rural Bolivia or something. The roads are terrible, living conditions are terrible, there's a meth lab every acre and no one has any money. There are SO many poor people who will never have an opportunity to not be poor that it's impossible to call America a first world country, at least in my opinion. I DID grow up there.
