If the EU decides to be vindictive and petty, that price rise will happen anyway, and I totally agree, the British car-buying public would accept that, so instead of accepting that price hike they will buy other cars.
If the prices of German and French cars go up, more people will consider buying the likes of Nissan, Toyota and Honda, which will be cheaper as they would be made in the UK and not subject to "the punishment tarriff"
