@Theomniadept From an economic standpoint, The British Chancellor (Philip Hammond) said himself, that although the UK ended 2016 as the fastest-growing part of the large developed economies. Much of that has depended on consumer demand remaining very strong due to cheap and readily available credit.

"The transition process for leaving the EU has made households on average 19% poorer, and it is likely to get a lot worse depending on how the US economy performs post-Trump and the recommendations of Janet Yellen and the Federal Reserve."
"We have seen since the referendum our currency depreciate significantly. The currency depreciation is now feeding through into inflation, which will increasingly affect consumer behaviour during 2017."
