@Rogers It's sad. So many of my fellows think everyone who has slightly different views from themselves is a "liberal". It's used in the same sense that "communist" was during the Cold War. In that, the uneducated believe it to invalidate the other side of the argument with just one mention.
Examples:
"I'm worried about the state of our natural ecosystem"
"You liberals are all the same"
"I wish he would further look into an alternative healthcare plan"
"Shut up, filthy liberal"
"I believe it's wrong that Congress gets to vote on their own salary"
"Suck it up you stupid liberal"
