Well fact checking is something people should wish to do, but it has been made quite frustrating to fact check, if you do not know how to or get easily frustrated by things, people have become apathetic because of the flood of 'bad' information.
Social media and the internet is an advantage, you can get a lot of different information on same topic and then you yourself can make a decision on what you believe, but if you just stick to saying "I only believe what x says" then yeah..problems arise.
