@txag70 As far as general emissions, I agree. Coal needs to be abandoned. That said, geothermal and solar are the future, not petroleum.
Gasoline is made from petroleum or a mix of oil and bitumen. Liquid hydrocarbon is very difficult to clean up when spilled. If the recent spills in Saskatchewan had been into the Missouri River instead of a river that flows into Hudson Bay, I think it would have become a bigger scandal.
