@tulpoeid I don't know what you're talking about. I am a bit obsessed with North Korea, as a result of the time I spent in SK. As such, I'm always reading up on their activities, even from their own external-facing propaganda websites (kcna.co.jp). You will see people "happily" playing, working, or just going about their day. But you will never see a fat person. Look carefully at the clothes from this Vice photo-essay, and you'll see that everything is baggy and loose. This is not a fashion statement, so much as a way of hiding the emaciation that is prevalent among the population.
In the mid-1990s, the famine was so bad that the NK government created a national campaign that was literally called "Lets eat only two meals a day" as a way of integrating fasting into their national mindset.
