It's only one example, but it is strongly correlated with higher incidences of outcomes that we generally see as undesirable - once these teens start being sexually active, they tend to have on average more partners and use protection less frequently, resulting in higher rates of STDs and of teen pregnancy (complete that with lower education level attained for these mothers and them generally ending up single parent families, meaning, children that are raised in a weaker economic and social environment than necessary).
Absolutely a religious thing.
