And why did the U.S. use nukes in WWII? To prevent the war continuing on (regardless of the eventual outcome) and costing many more millions of lives in the process.

So, you think that your neighbor treating their citizens poorly is acceptable and that no one should step in? Let's put it in another context. Say your neighbor next door is a middle-aged man with a wife and kids. They beat their wife, starve their kids, and keep an iron-grip on them to prevent them from leaving or seeking help. What do you do? Turn a blind eye? Report it to the police? Step in on your own?

You have nothing to do with what's happening? Really? This isn't a North Korea issue, or a NK/SK issue, or even a NK/U.S. issue. This is a GLOBAL issue. If North Korea develops and uses a nuclear weapon the fallout could be catastrophic not just for the U.S., but for South Korea, Japan, and anyone else in the world. They're lengthening their reach every day after all.
