@Nisse_Hult
First i'm glad that some one has noticed my comment.
Maybe they did'n meant to raise Finland as a nations but still they did it and to be exact it tsar Aleksander I who gave Finland the autonomy.
The real reason he did it was that he wanted to reassure Finland and avoid any conflict in future.
Also the existing legislation gave almost limitless power to the king, only Alexander need to do was replace the king and take title of Grand duke of Finland.

Later on only the last tsar Nicolas II was the only one who actively wanted to tried to suppress Finland's autonomy.
By giving the February manifesto which started the first period of oppression, it ended when Eugen Schauman shot the General Governor Bobrikov.
Of course there were lot of other periods of oppression's in early 1900 s and partially because of them Finland made the declaration of independents and rest is history.....

What comes whit the trade an example of the importance is that when USSR collapsed Finland experienced one of the worst economic downturn, because of that.
So was it profitable or not?

One other thing is that when Finland started as the Grand Duchy of Russia in 1809 it was one of the most poorest country's in Europe and when it became an independent state it was the European average.

In schools they teach these thing very very concise and brief and they certainly are not pro-Russia.
I have read history and i make my own conclusions.

So how much do you have studied Finland's history?
