@TachyonCode Humor is a funny thing (no pun intended). We in the Nordic countries use humor to talk about serious and grave matters. That is why our humor is often regarded as dark in the eyes of foreigners. Similarly your American humor can sometimes seem tame to us, because you are more restrictive about which subjects is generally considered okay to joke about.
This is why I said attitude and outlook are more important, because culturally we use humor differently and that is what I think is the main reason we can joke about something that you can't. Of course time is a factor, I just believe it has less impact.
