@maddslacker, they've become a lot more common here in the past decade or two, but most don't get one growing up, and even among adults they're still very far from universal.

Me and my ex got one in this style, but not from IKEA, and there is no way the top doesn't end up something like 70 cm / 28 inches off the floor if you want space to vacuum underneath; 10 cm / 4 inches isn't really enough, you need another 5 cm / 2 inches for that... https://www.ikea.com/se/sv/images/products/kongsfjord-divan-bed__0707120_PE726116_S5.JPG

But one of these instead? No problem putting on legs that give you plenty of space for cleaning without needing climbing gear to get onto it :-) https://www.ikea.com/se/sv/images/products/snarum-mattress-and-mattress-pad-medium-firm-talgje__0701246_PE723970_S5.JPG

Both of those are the Swedish equivalent of king-sized, if you want that second type of bed without any noticeable divide between the two halves when you're lying in it, you can't get them any wider than 140 cm / 55 inches.

Edit: Of course, there are beds with storage underneath that are taller than usual too.
