No, we never really had centralized authority to begin with, and the current abomination we have as President is now trying to assert is authority by having troops occupy cities whose mayors belong to the opposition party. These troops attack citizens for speaking out in public against racism and police brutality. So honestly, even centralized authority wouldn't be a lot of help given who'd be exercising it. At this point, I'm just wondering how much longer we're even going to have a country that can be saved.
