'@kbdick' during last year's elections in Russia some regions introduced voting by mail and over the internet. Was funny to see how Russian liberals were upset about it, without realizing that even that was more secure than the way voting works in some places in US.
Demanding passport (or other photo ID) and heavy restrictions on absentee voting were never seriously discussed as "voter suppression" here.
