@AmericanButterfly I think it's more like the dads in the US see themselves as "help" or "fun parent" rather than the responsible parents they should be. Moms, meanwhile, are exhausted because most of them have jobs outside the home AND wind up doing most of the childcare too. And even the stay-at-home moms have difficulty getting free time because it isn't like most dads take over on childcare or household stuff after work. This is s-l-o-w-l-y beginning to change but it's probably going to take at least a generation.
