Can I just ask you though @Bubbleangst, why did you chose those pokemon for Northern Ireland?

I wanted to give Northern Ireland a seal Pokémon, since seals are native to Ireland, and Walrein evolves from a Pokémon based on a seal. But I didn't want to give Northern Ireland two unevolved Pokémon.
While I didn't draw that here, I'd also like to think each of the UK characters have a tough water type able to learn surf, because island nation and also the Royal Navy. Scotland has Lapras (because Loch Ness monster), Northern Ireland has Walrein, Wales has a Gyarados (I wanted Wales to have mostly dragon-like Pokémon), and England has a Milotic (because posh). Maybe I should draw that.
I choose Hattrem because it's a forest witch, and made me think of old Celtic mythology. I also wanted each character to have one less intimidating looking Pokémon as more of a companion than a fighter.
Woah, long explanation. But oh well ^^'

But they've already expressed that England owns a union Jack shirt....... It would undo countless comics portraying England as the UK as a whole. I would love a UK, but he would mess up the canon. I always wished that he would be an anime style combining between England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

@milk it's a refernce of Norway sometimes carrying around a fish dude, I picked Magicarp cause it's the most famous or infamous fish pokemon

not to mention Magicarp evolves into Gyarados which is one of the best gen one pokemon

Sister America will have Lillipup to represent Ottowa and Mimikyu to represent her friendship with sister Japan, I could've gone with aloha Raichu but I rather her have an original pokemon besides a remake, plus Mimikyu is cute

Australia will have Krokorok and Dodrio
