My 7 month old kitten is pushing his luck these days. If he doesn't stop biting me I may have to cash in some of his lives! (Little bastard is just playing I know, but I've got wounds all over my hands and up both arms! AND my feet! He's super sweet the rest of the time. He's asleep between my knees right now.)
@Tarmaque you have to say "Ow!" Loudly, and look as if he's REALLY hurt you. otherwise he thinks you're like his siblings, with a good fur coat to cushion the bites.
@Wolfette Trust me, those words have been screamed at him regularly since I got him. Along with "No biting!" It just encourages him. But otherwise he's a dream kitty. He uses his box without fail, travels well, likes other people and gets along with other cats. But he bites me when he wants to be fed, and he bites me when he wants to play, and he bites me to tell me he loves me.
He's snuggling right now between my legs, but I had to stop him from biting the buttons on my shirt!
Why the extra lives? In Norway, it's probably due to their excellent social systems. For the US, we took Mexico's extras in the 1840s. As for Britain? They probably took the extras from Greece and the Middle East for a museum. Russia took some from Poland after WWII, and gave Poland some of Germany's as compensation. ;)
