I have long, straight, blond hair. Everytime I take a publik bus in Moshi, Tanzania a local child or woman descretely tries to touch my hair. I feel the tinys soft pull in my hair, at the back - and I know, someone could not resist trying to touch this strange hair.

I remember this kind of thing happening in my former school to both black people or white people with curly hair. It was as if they'd never seen curly hair ! Seriously !
It was the opposite for me when me and my family went to Portugal when I was little. All the locals we asked for directions kept petting my hair, I remember thinking it was kind of weird but didn't mind as I thought it was kind of nice (I wasn't really old enough to see anything creepy about it).
This is everyone compulsion. i have red curly hair and i one time went to Africa, lots of the Africans touched my hair, and my AFJROTC instructor used to live in japan, his daughter had very blond hair, so when he went to japan(Asians mainly have black hair) his daughter's hair got touched a lot.
White people are just the only ones who don't complain about getting our hair touched
When I was younger I went with my family to Portugal and Spain.. My sister and I both have/had blonde hair, and all the locals kept touching our hair :S It is quite creepy when you are 5y/o :O
We are from Holland btw :P Yay for the blonde hair (all my grammar and spelling mistakes here I blaim on my blonde hair also hahah)
