@Schiffy It's an Australian species. That says it all. A European species' bite will hurt you. An American species bite will kill you in horrible pain. Australian species... they *look* at you, then they pin a suitable obituary on your clothes. That's all they'll find, anyhow.
When I learn about other species' different gender dimorphics, it really leaves me wondering how many humans would vote to change to that other system if they could.
This one feel like wouldn't pass, but there would be a surprisingly high number of people who would vote for it.
Hymenoptera males are pretty useless, anyway. They just breed and then wither away, no matter the species, as far as I know. In the colony species, they don't even bother to do any work before they leave to seek mating opportunities.
