Also, this comic works as a great metaphor for how the American government works under Trump. A lot of political commentators on the Left thought that Trump winning re-election would be akin to the velociraptors learning to use the door knobs in the Jurassic Park movie. In reality the country is being run by cats that learned how to use the can opener, but can't read, so they still can't get access to their food.

@kwerboom It's a mix. They've already arrested judges and deported citizens. They've done damage in a few months that will take decades to fix, if it even can be fixed. Other countries are welcoming scientists who will probably never come back. They've wiped out institutional expertise that took decades to build.
Sure, they're incompetent. But when the goal is to break everything but the institutions that they intend to use as means of terror, well, they've done a remarkably good job.
Hitler took power in 1933. The systematic murder didn't start until 1939. We've got a few more safety mechanisms than 1933 Germany, but they're still fragile, we're already at a constitutional crisis when a 9-0 SCrOTUS order is being blatantly ignored.
