Fun fact, part of why Florida Man exists is Florida's open records laws that make arrest records and other details public instantly. Many other US states likely have just as many weirdo hi-jinx but the records stay private longer so there is less to troll through for tabloid news stories and thus we hear more of them from Florida.
@Kvaseren As an American, when I see other countries (or their citizenrs) engaging in the same insanity that we do, my first thought is, "Whew, at least it's not just us..."
And that thought is immediately followed by, "Oh s--t, It's not just us..."
@Jonimus I've heard that before, but why would it matter when the records were released? I don't think tabloids are going to ignore "Maine man robs convenience with lobsters" just because the records are for an event from 5 months ago.
@The_Yellow_Ardvark Indeed, it's more like a service animal. Although I find the idea that some Scotsmen use the haggis as a therapy animal to be a bit daft.
@The_Yellow_Ardvark Well maybe the *Highland* Haggis (the one with one leg longer than the other for running around mountains) is likely not a suitable pet, since it is too vicious, but the *Lowland* Haggis is far more docile, provided you don't feed it any whisky, of course. An adult Sporran would seem to make a great pet as they are so soft and strokable but I hear they are a considered "at risk" and so not permitted for domestic ownership these days...
