Translation of Pet

In Chinese they are called "beloved animals."
...but sometimes we just call them "masters". Especially cats.

In Sweden if you directly translate "pet", it'll be "house animal"

@Jem sorry i replied this late lol, but there is actually. Sällskapsdjur is a old Swedish word, nowadays we use "husdjur" which is as i typed, house pet

@AB1991 Pet Rocks were a thing, pretty popular.

I decided to name all the pets after food

Cat: Cheeto
Dog: Bagel
Bird: Banana Peanut Butter
Guinea Pig: Potato
mosquito: Muffin

Google Translate says we call them "companion animals" and that the translation is verified by contributors. Might be a regional thing but I've never heard that term.

@Leonick Sällskapsdjur is a term I've heard, but husdjur is much more common I would say.

@anarfox Yea with some more thought I've probably heard it, but it isn't common. Google suggesting it and not even mentioning husdjur felt really odd.

@Leonick the five comic update (there actually more) is because for years there where comics that were only on Facebook but now Dayvi put them on the site

The Finnish word for pet is "lemmikki" which comes from the old word "lempi" and means "favourite/favoured/beloved one". The long form is "lemmikkieläin" which means "favourite/favoured/beloved animal".

This made me forget what care was in Tagalog but then I remembered it was alaga lmao
