Nawww, that's so cute! I wonder what's going on in Swede-
all Swedes: WHY DO WE SUCK SO MUCH WHY DID WE LOSE ÅLAND WHY ARE WE SO STUPID MY WHOLE FAMILY LEFT TO AMERICA BECAUSE THEY WERE SO DONE WITH OUR SHIT AND NOW I'M ALL ALONE AND SICK IN CHOLERA WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!??!?
……...Well….another's misfortune is someone's happiness'I suppose….
@EUcomicartist Hey, you want Åland back, please take it! We're not exactly fond of a cowpat of an island where we're treated worse than bubonic plague.
@DarkMage7280 Åland should do what they think is best for them. I hold no antagonism towards Åland at all. If they want to be part of Sweden, let them I can't blame them, their culture is so close to Swedish. If Ålanders think they are better off being part of Finland then they are welcome to. And if they want independence, that is okay too.
A lot more places than just those two countries, I suspect.
In fact, it seems to be a common attitude in Asia, that teen girls (moreso than boys) will often "try out" relationships with each other, pretty much for the same reasons as above. There's a lot of varying degrees of this you can see in media coming out of those countries (Japan and Korea come to mind).
Of course this makes it more difficult for *actual* lesbians to come out, since their parents dismiss it as just being a temporary phase.

The permanent research located at the geographic south pole has wifi. Mostly for the scientists to contact the outside world, but technically there is internet on Antarctica.
@EclipseMaster459
I don't know what company is running it (if any), but if you're planning to go there I'd recommend going when it's winter in antarctica; there are nearly 3 times as many scientists there during summer.

I wouldn't say Paradise, whatwith housing and grocery monopolies jacking up the prices, but it is pretty good to have public education and healthcare that actually exists.
And although it varies quite a lot between different provinces, in the one I'm from racism, sexism, xenophobia, and homophobia just isn't a thing; which is probably the greatest gift I've been given. Post-oppression is something all societies should strive for.
@NeframeTheCosmonaut That's similar to the state I'm from. We are sometimes called "The eleventh province of Canada". We apologise for someone else stumbling into us, we make friendly chitchat with strangers, and offer to help total strangers. Apparently, it's not always the case other places. I went to New York City, and when we asked a couple of a restaurant was good. The ignored us the first two times we asked. Go figure. And hey, you don't have to pay for health insurance or education.
@comrade_Comrade
Well, I've heard that in the Victorian-age brittish navy sodomy was considered legal after 14 days at sea, wheras it could normally lead to the death penalty. So there might be some truth to it.
