@AmericaTheBigBoned Ah, the memories! My dad and me watched "A Christmas Story" almost every year when I was little. (The German title is "Fröhliche Weihnachten".) Wikipedia says while it's a Christmas classic in the US, it's relatively unknown in Germany, though.
I celebrate everything I can. Christmas, Hannukkah, Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, Persian fire fesitvals, Buddha's Birthday, Diwali, Chinese New year.
Everything.
Life is a celebration that too many people work through, and is too soon over.
Happy Holidays!!!
My family has a tradition of starting a "Lord Of The RIngs: Extended Edition" marathon on Christmas. My grandma says it's her favorite part about the holidays. My whole family is a bunch of nerds.
@GingerSwede Am I the only one who thinks Peter Jackson's version of LOTR is horrible except for the magnificent art direction? I mean, it absolutely looks great, but he has unnecessarily killed and maimed much of what has made the story great. The list of terrible things he has done to the story is rather endless.
Sweden: Ah, Finland! I trust Christmas brings you its traditional mix of merriment, good food, and VDs from my sister.
Finland: (surprisingly talks outside of a sauna) And complements of the season to you too, Sweden. May your huge straw goat not see the Christmas morning this year, either.
Sweden: (smiles) Merry Christmas, you knife-wielding drunken proto-Russian mute.
Finland: (smiles) And merry Christmas to you too, you emasculated pussy-whipped little wimp.
I have a neighbor who is Jewish, and he and his wife are the sweetest people ever. They will bring us Christmas presents even though that is not their holiday and mow our lawn in the summer, and in return we mow their lawn and bake them cookies and sweets.
