Well, that's not true. Spaniards have no problems with that, they only get upset, as us, when Americans use those terms wrongly. Spaniards are Hispanics and therefore "Latinos." The word Hispania was the Roman province where Spain is now, and those who speak Spanish are called "Hispanics" .Hispanoamerica exists because it was colonized by Spain. In fact, they are the original Hispanics. There is the Day of Hispanic Heritage, which is celebrated very warmly in Spain.
And the word "Latino" is the Spanish form of the word "Latin" which refers to everything derived from the Roman Empire and their Latin language and culture.

I would say 'Hey! I'm American and I know that Denmark is a country!' but then i realized that i only know about Scandinavia because of this webcomic.

You think Denmark has a problem with USA not seeing him, New Zealand doesn't even appear on some of America's maps

@Zenon I read that diplomatic relations betwen Denmark and America has not had in interruption since 1801 makes me wonder if Ameria just thought he was talking to his "imaginary" friend

We do learn a lot about South America, too. At least in Finnish schools. Though we're not a part of Scandinavia...

As an american (ididntputituponmyprofileiknowokay) I can confirm that I have never heard of Denmark until I found this site,Norway and Sweden,yeah sure i'll know them,but denmark was completely BLANK.

I actually know all of the countries in South America, but that's probably just because I love geography!

Maybe this is why America thinks Scandinavia is a country. Because the two in the group he can see look the same.
