The implication of that

The implication of that

Still not over the American woman who was super surprised to see so many men walking around with strollers and generally looking after their children alone during her travels through the Nordic countries.

Masquerade

Masquerade

After my last comic so many Americans were like “The Scandinavian countries are so smart and we can’t even get Americans to wear masks” but the Scandinavian countries haven’t even suggested that people wear masks. All they’ve done is tell people to wear masks abroad because they otherwise risk getting a fine in countries where masks are mandatory.

Because of the Chernobyl TV series a lot of online influencers have been traveling to Chernobyl and taking some less than safe photos.

They did their best

They did their best

This was suggested by a woman working in the US military. She noticed that a lot of people who hate participation trophies in the US are against removing confederate statues. Make of that what you want.

Free Greenland

Free Greenland

Some time ago it was very fashionable to fight for Tibet, but China was like a rock, so shortly thereafter people suddenly started yelling the same slogans but about Greenland and people felt a bit confused. Let's just say the modern day situation between Denmark and Greenland is different than China/Tibet. They have home rule, meaning they pretty much function as a independent country, and they get huge sums of money from Denmark to keep the country running and get it back on it's feed after all the abuse they suffered under Denmark. If they become fully independent they'd lose the money, so for now they choose to stay part of Denmark until they figure something better out. They vote on whether they want to become independent every so often, but so far it has always been a no. But worry not, it will happen some day.

Return of the lovable dork

Return of the lovable dork

You would not believe how much I've missed Regular America. He's a well meaning buffoon which is why I loved and used him so much. He does stupid shit but is never mean spirited, and throughout the year I kept having ideas for comics, thinking "This would be PERFECT for Ameri- No wait, if Trump America does it it will seem horrible"

So yeah, this is me going "fuck this shit!" and bringing him back. Trump's foolery will be handled by the skin-blob from now on.

White on white hate crime

White on white hate crime

Ah Poland. Europe's punching bag.

That's also why it doesn't make sense to talk about white and black culture outside of USA because the cultures are so different from country to country in Europe and there's a pecking order going on amongst white people. Even people from, say, the Middle East will rarely say "You white people" but rather "You French/German/Norwegian/and-so-on people"

Now, is it racism? It depends on how much you buy into the idea of race. A Dane who hates Swedes wouldn't call that racist, but people from Eastern Europe start to look different enough that it's often called racism, and in a way that plays into the negative feelings too. It's complicated.
