Great Concern

There's no story behind this one. I just felt like drawing a slice of life comic about the assholery the Nordic characters subject each other to.

Three Years

Three Years

This is to celebrate the third anniversary for Scandinavia and The World. My little baby is already three years old. *sniff*

How many of you remember that Sweden and Norway got married in the first comic? http://satwcomic.com/porn-for-everybody

Eurovision 2012

Eurovision 2012

So this year's winner is Sweden. He is quite pleased. Just look at his happy little face. ^u^

He fought quite a battle with the Russian grannies, but ended up beating them.

The "screw you" to Norway and Denmark is because Sweden only gave 3 points to Norway and nothing to Denmark.
In the end Norway ended up at the very bottom with only 7 points and Denmark fourth last with 21 points.

The rest can be explained by the acts.

For Realz!

Music in the background of the last picture http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sFFYfvgF-w :XD:

Anyway, the first picture refers to these videos http://www.youtube.com/user/SwedishMealTime?feature=chclk

The snowman is a reference to a man in Sweden who got trapped in his car without food during a snowstorm and was found two months later, weak but still alive. How did he survive? By eating "a bit of snow".

The Badasses

The Badasses

The three SatW characters people usually refer to as the badasses. :D

In front, Svalbard, Norway’s twin brother. The tough one who lives in the unforgiving and frozen wilderness alone. He’s not a violent or angry person, but you can be damn sure he will be the last one standing.

On the left, Finland. The quiet one who takes no shit from anyone (Except Sister Sweden, but for reasons all his own ;) ). You can never be quite sure of what is going on in his head, and if you are not within stabbing distance, he will snipe you from across the city.

On the right, Åland. The love struck one who will make your life a living hell if you get in the way of his happiness. If you get on his bad side, he won’t care if you surrender...

Just Another Morning

Happy Independence Day Finland. :XD:

There’s no point to this. I just wanted to make a comic that had Finland, Sweden and Åland’s characters bouncing off each other.

This comic could have gone on forever, but I had to restrain myself. In my head Finland and Åland’s fight just keep escalating without any of them really getting hurt, and it ends with all of them drinking coffee together because Sweden timed it perfectly. :D

Make a good impression

Make a good impression

The main reason why Åland isn’t too fond of Finland.

First off, mämmi looks like this http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:M%C3%A4mmi.jpg and is a special Easter dish in Finland.

A myth goes that when Sweden and Finland were fighting over Åland (the Ålanders wanted to be part of Sweden, and weren’t satisfied with Finland offering them autonomous status) and they asked the League of Nations (It doesn't exist anymore, which is why I put King Europe in the comic instead) for help, it happened around Easter. The emissaries went to Finland for a meeting, and the Finns served them the traditional mämmi to make a good impression. When the emissaries saw what was on their plates they said, “If this is what they eat, they should at least have Åland” :XD:

The real reason was that a number of small islands are between Åland and Finland, and if you sail to Åland from Finland, you can at all times see land. That wasn’t the case with Sweden.

Oh, and Norway isn’t part of EU, which is why King Europe is bugging him. :D

Coffee Thief

Coffee Thief

You do not break into Finland’s house, even if he is out of the country! >:C

Finland was known for their fantastic snipers in World War 2, especially a man named Simo Häyhä.

Yes, I’m back. Feels good man. :D

Geography Joke

Geography Joke

An old joke that just didn’t work with the usual characters.

I know some people won’t get it, and all I will say to help you along is: Please notice what Sweden and Finland looks like together without Norway. ;)
That was actually what early euros looked like because Norway isn't in the EU. :XD:

Åland got it's own flag because he is a fairly big character in the usual comics.

Wish you were here

Don’t ask me why Sweden and Denmark are on vacation together. They’re probably visiting some convention or something. Most likely the worst vacation ever for both of them. :XD:
