The Nordic Fellows

The Nordic Fellows

People have asked for a more realistic version of the Nordic countries from my comic for longer than I can remember, so here they are. High differences and all. Enjoy.

From left to right: Iceland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway.

Well, Finland is a mute! He couldn’t tell them what they were supposed to do, so he had to show them!

I just knew people were wondering what Finland’s hair looks like, and seeing as I never intended it to be a mystery, here it is.

And don’t worry. I won’t stop drawing these comics for a loooooong time. You just won’t get a new one every single day. :)

Long Cold Nights

Long Cold Nights

I have had this comic on my computer for a month now, because I wasn’t sure if I should post it. Too much naked skin.
Then I showed it to a friend who said I had to post it. I’m still a little nervous about it though, so let’s see for how long this will stay here. ^^;

Anyway, this comic is based on the “What happened in the Nordic people’s huts doing those long cold winter nights” jokes.
I once had a substitute history teacher who was very fond of insinuating that all countries in the north f***ed like rabbits as soon as they had a bit to drink and the first snow fell, and prevented the Vikings from getting their rocks on in England. She was a crazy but fun lady. :XD:

Another joke in here, is that the Finns claim that the only reason why Swedish women get pregnant is because the Finnish men come over to help them out. :XD:

Meet my Sister

Meet my Sister

It's a girl thing. You boys wouldn't understand it.

Anyway, here’s the boys introducing their sisters to each other. All countries have a sibling of the opposite sex. This came to be because the stereotypical Swedish woman is radically different from the stereotypical Swedish man. In fact, she is the complete opposite of everything the Swedish man stands for, so Sweden is not particular proud of her.

For gods sake, Sweden! Didn't you know not to touch Finland when you are dressed in drag and he is dressed as demon som hell?! :XD:
And you don't have to fear Finland, Denmark. Your problem is Greenland, who is always there, in the dark, waiting for your weak moment...

Hehe, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark dressed as the singers who won for their country last time in the Eurovision Song Contest.
And in Iceland's case, dressed as the singer who almost won.
And in Greenland's case, dressed as his suppressor's winner.

Norway is of course dressed as Alexander Rybak who won this year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiH4BFTELME
Sweden is dressed as Charlotte Nilsson who won in 1999. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qe1NNxeN7w
Denmark and Greenland are dressed as The Olsen Brothers who won in 2000. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEwlSyd7DH4
Finland is dressed as the front singer from Lordi who won in 2006. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mh3hj9-J76Y
And Iceland is dressed as Yohanna who came in second this year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcXCjC1Yijg

They’re finally here! Finland and Iceland (and Germany)!

The joke behind this is that everybody agrees that Sweden, Norway and Denmark make up Scandinavia, but some say that Finland and Iceland are part of it too. Most people in Sweden, Norway and Denmark doesn’t consider them to be part of Scandinavia though.
No invitation for you!

The Finnish stereotype is a masculine drunk mute with a knife. I had to read up on this because Denmark don’t have a lot to do with Finland, but when I read the description I knew I had to include him sooner or later. :XD:

Icelanders are considered to be more beautiful than other Nordic people. They also see themselves as risk-takers, who love extreme sports, so I gave him some sporty cloth and sunglasses, and little sparkles to emphasise his prettiness. :)

I've read that when Germans go to America they often get yelled at and called Nazis. Most people here are way beyond that because we live right next to them and see them quite often. Instead our German stereotype is a loud guy with really bad hair and cloth, who loves sausages.
My father’s sister married a German, so I did everything in my power not to make the character look like him. :XD:
