Bedside manners

I've been on my fair share of road trips with Brits, often as the only woman in the group, and I always thought it was sweet how the men would go out of their way to give me my privacy, even if the only privacy they could offer was letting me have my own bed while the rest of them lumped together on whatever was left.
I never asked for this and quite frankly it confused me the first few times because this isn't something I've experienced with Danish men, but they insisted and, well, it was very sweet.

Sacred Animal

At a previous convention some fans told me about their family visiting England and taking photos of *rare* animals.

Sister England then visited Australia and took photos of Kangaroos.

Speaking of conventions: some of the SatW team will be at the MCM London Comic Con and at the London Film & Comic Con.

Mother's Day

England celebrates Mothering Sunday two months before Canada, Australia, and America celebrate Mother's Day. This causes much confusion on the internet.

Family Time

My housemate who has spent a good chunk of her life in the US told me about how if Americans say they'll make cookies, more often than not they mean take out a roll of premade cookie dough they bought at the store, cut it into slices and bake it in an oven.

I on the other hand, leaned while living in England that the English looove putting grated cheese on everything. Everything!

Eurovision 2014

The main theme of Eurovision 2014 was Eurovision History.

But it also had two smaller themes.
1) The Danish hosts were trying to be a little creepy as a nod to Danish actors always being hired to play villains in American and English films and TV. That was the reason behind the weird stalker segment and shooting fireworks at the commentators.
2) They acknowledged that Eurovision is very popular among gays, which is why it had one female host and two males who were being very *ahem* friendly with each other.

So could it be more fitting that a drag queen who sang a James Bond themed song won?

Child of the Night

Throughout the world Romania have two stereotypes: Vampires and thieving gipsies.

So of course Romania is a vampire who would rather steal your purse than drink your blood. Yes, I know that makes me a horrible person.

And yes, that is Sister England. Yes, I know you English people envisioned her differently, but this is the kind of women we see in your TV series and movies, so this is what she looks like.
