Happy cute Yule

Happy cute Yule

I’ve been blamed for only focusing on scary and weird Christmas traditions. Well, for once Christmas falls on a Friday so I thought I’d celebrate by posting the most obnoxiously cute Yuletide picture.

You have my gun

You have my gun

America of course has a tendency to make their own versions of foreign films, but they also edit foreign film covers and posters to make them look more aggressive because apparently Americans respond best to that sort of thing. I asked people how movies would be different if made ONLY for an American audience and I couldn't stop laughing at people's suggestions, especially those send in by Americans.

Fact for a rainy day

Fact for a rainy day

I promise I'm done with Nokia for now.

And if the whole Sweden/Denmark situations proves anything, it's that even old enemies can put their past behind them and become friends (but still make fun of each other A LOT)

Eurovision 2016

Eurovision 2016

As per tradition, here's the yearly Eurovision comic.

This Eurovision had a lot of firsts: Australia became an official participant despite preforming last year, the show was shown on American TV, an American preformed, and not a single Nordic country made it to the finals except Sweden because they were hosting the show.

I actually hope America joins Eurovision some day because they'd be the most amazing drama queens every time they lost, and nothing says Eurovision like drama.

In Iceland they use the heat from lava to grow bananas because they don't get enough sun.

Happy flu season everybody!

Sickness has also taken hold of this house, so sorry about the late and simple comic. I'll try to do better next week. :)

Bitchy Witchy

Bitchy Witchy

Happy Halloween!

During the witch hunts in Europe each country had their own witch lore.

In Norway and Sweden they were what you would expect. Women who did magic and could fly using anything from broomsticks to their husbands.

In Denmark however witches weren't believed to have the power to fly. Their favorite transportation was a horse at night.

And in Iceland and Finland performing magic was seen as a male thing, so Christians had a hard time convincing the natives witches were women. Instead men got burned and only one or two women were killed.
