The Easy Way

The Easy Way

Religion is a very private thing in the Nordic countries and not something you're supposed to tell others about, both because most people aren't religious so it would be considered rude, and also because they're such personal feelings for religious people.

So a sure way to ruin the mood is to wear a T-shirt with a religious message, or any other object that somehow show what religion you belong to, most of all because Nordics will probably be too polite to talk about it (like I said, you're not supposed to talk about religion), so it will be a huge elephant in the room and they will just sit and stare awkwardly at you, afraid they might say something that'll hurt your religious feelings. :XD:

Swedish Army

Swedish Army

There's a story going around that small breasted women who join the Swedish army are offered the choice of free breast implants. They're also advised to gain a little weights, all intended to make them look bigger, more butch, and matronly. In other words, big breasts are scary. :fear:

You can get a Sister Sweden poster now here http://satwcomic.com/shop/bend-over-poster The poster has been selling a lot better than I thought it would. You naughty people. ;)

New Nordic

New Nordic

Scotland has said they want to be part of the Nordics when they get free from England. The Nordics have shown a positive interest in the suggestion.

Meanwhile Estonia which has tried for years to be accepted as one of the Nordics is still ignored. The world just isn't fair. :XD:

Not English

Not English

You'd be surprised how often I'm asked that question. It's usually by people from English speaking countries who can't speak any other language themselves. :XD:

And I google translated all of it from English, even the Danish, just for the hell of it. :XD:

Proud Finland

Proud Finland

I wasn't going to make anything about Finland winning the World Hockey Championships because I don't care about sports at all. But then I saw that a Finn had written "Go go retarded lion!" and I couldn't help myself. :XD:

Cute Puppy

Cute Puppy

This was inspired by this story http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/12/world/europe/12nazi.html?_r=1 of a Finn who taught his dog to do the nazi salute during World War II. The nazis did not like that.

Game for Grown Ups

Game for Grown Ups

Four of the Nordic boys in the roles of these guys http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH3xiUUM2GQ

The video is a trailer for a non-existing TV series about four old friends, a Norwegian, a Swede, a Finn and a Dane meeting up to play Kim's Game (The game where you put a cloth over some things, then a person removes one thing while the others look away, and then they have to guess what is missing). The Swede complains that it’s childish, so the Norwegian suggest they play the grown up version where you have to remove something from the other person’s life (like a car or money).
The ending result is the Swede and the Finn going crazy, kidnapping the Dane to remove him from the Norwegian’s life, and then removing...something from the Dane's life in the process, and well, it all goes to shit from there.

I almost made Denmark yell, “Noooorway!!!” because the Dane in the video keeps calling the Norwegian’s name over and over and over. In fact, he doesn't say much else.

Yes, it’s from a Norwegian comedy show. Isn’t that lovely... :XD:

Santa is a...

Santa is a...

Everybody knows Santa’s sledge is pulled by reindeer, lives somewhere cold and even the Finns say he lives in Lapland.

In other words, Santa is a Sami. Just look at this http://www.visitnorway.com/ImageVault/Images/id_8233/conversionFormat_13/scope_0/ImageVaultHandler.aspx and deal with it.

The Sami people are the “Indians” of the North and they belong in the same group as Native Americans and Aboriginals. They live in Lapland, an area that stretches from north Norway over Sweden and Finland to Russia.

I would have liked there to be more characters in the comic, but I don’t have a lot of time to draw today, so this will have to do.

The Badasses

The Badasses

The three SatW characters people usually refer to as the badasses. :D

In front, Svalbard, Norway’s twin brother. The tough one who lives in the unforgiving and frozen wilderness alone. He’s not a violent or angry person, but you can be damn sure he will be the last one standing.

On the left, Finland. The quiet one who takes no shit from anyone (Except Sister Sweden, but for reasons all his own ;) ). You can never be quite sure of what is going on in his head, and if you are not within stabbing distance, he will snipe you from across the city.

On the right, Åland. The love struck one who will make your life a living hell if you get in the way of his happiness. If you get on his bad side, he won’t care if you surrender...
