Double Attack

Double Attack

Lately both the Norwegian and Danish prime ministers have said something along the lines of "Sweden has a lot of dangerous people crossing our borders. Let's keep an eye on that" and I could just imagine Sweden being like "Seriously guys, don't do this at the same time!"

The big question

The big question

When I lived in England I thought the washing machine was in the kitchen because we had a tiny shitty house, but turned out that's very normal in England. Where do you keep your washing machine?

Dangerous Waters

Dangerous Waters

A few years ago a survey was done in Denmark that showed that most Danes like Germans more than any other nationalities (With Norwegians and Swedes in close second and third places), so consider this a loving warning to all you Germans who vacation in Denmark: remember that the sea is dangerous everywhere, even in Denmark. Every year a few tourists die, and it's almost always Germans. Your adoring tophat (aka Denmark) wants you to stay safe.

The LEGO company used to dump old LEGO molds in concrete floors to keep people from stealing them. A bit extra if you ask me.

It feels like all countries have their own brands of weird stuff, and no country got more stories about young men being attracted to odd things than Japan.

I'm just trolling you bro

I'm just trolling you bro

Confession: I collect troll figurines like other people collect stamps, so when I visited Norway this week I of course had to get a Norwegian troll. You can find a wall of nothing but rubber troll figurines in every Norwegian souvenir shop, but I always thought they were horrible looking and asked people if I could find better quality trolls in a normal store. I was always told no, because trolls are mainly a tourist thing in Norway these days.

Which surprised me because you can find the Norwegian souvenir trolls in Danish souvenir shops too if you don't have the time or money to visit Norway, but if you want the Danish trolls you have to visit designer stores that have "this year's troll design" and what not. They're more expensive but better quality and usually made from ceramics, porcelain or wood, sometimes with real wool for hair. I didn't expect Denmark to be more serious about trolls than Norway.

To be fair, I eventually found some really nice wooden troll figurines in a single Norwegian souvenir shop.
