Iceland collects penises http://www.phallus.is/

Ever since I started making this comic people have asked me if I was going to draw something with the phallus museum. I didn’t know what to do with it, until it was suggested that it had something to do with Iceland’s small...population.

So I swear, I’m not out to get the Icelanders. :XD:

How the North works

How the North works

I found this lying unfinished around on my computer, and because I’ve got no comic today you’ll have to do with this.

Being the Dane I am, I of course forgot the Sami People (the Nordic "Indians").

EDIT: Yes, Sweden got Norway later on, but that is not what the bottom picture is about. For many years the Nordics were separated in West-North and East-North. When Sweden got Norway that messed up the separation of West and East and marked Denmark’s decline from power.

White Slave

White Slave

Yesterday they showed a program about the one million white slaves (of which three thousand were from Scandinavia) that were bought and sold in north Africa.

One of the stories was about a Danish boy who ended up being a slave for 12 years, and the other was about a group of Norwegian sailors that ended up on the slave market, and how the Danish state went into frantic negotiations with the owners to get them back. Most of the white slaves died, either from the hard labour, from being whipped to death or simply because they got deliberately killed by their owners, so the Danish state knew they couldn’t wait forever.

Three years later they finally managed to pay for the sailors, and they all returned home safely. :)

Tea-Party Crasher

Just invite Denmark next time, okay?

Apparently Japanese people have very high blood pressure, because that’s the only way to explain why people in anime and manga get explosive nosebleeds when they’re turned on. :XD:

I’ve had this one lying around for a long time because I kept drawing other comics that I would rather post.

Evil Flag

Evil Flag

Some time ago I talked with a German girl about the use of flags in Germany. She told me that the only time it is seen as okay to be waving the German flag is at sport events and official buildings. The rest of the time the fear of feeling national pride is too big. It is in fact so bad that some Germans even feel uncomfortable when they see other countries waving it at hotels and the like.

In Scandinavia we use our flags completely different, but it’s not like in North America where you see flags everywhere as a sign of national pride.
Every time we have a celebration of any kind we raise the flags, because here our flags doesn’t so much symbolise national pride as much as it has become a symbol of happiness, joy and having a good time. And something I haven’t seen in other countries is that we use it when celebrating birthdays. So if you walk by a house here and see 20 small flags in the front yard, it’s not because the people living there are nationalists. It just means someone is celebrating their birthday.

We even put the flags on Christmas trees like so http://www.museum-sonderjylland.dk/BILLEDERNE/web-dansk-juletrae.jpg http://naturvern.imaker.no/data/b/0/98/41/7_2701_0.jpg http://www.airynothing.com/photos/2005_Christmas_Montreal/2005_Christmas_Montreal-Thumbnails/108.jpg :XD:

Kung Fu Fighting

Kung Fu Fighting

Denmark has always been horribly bad at ice hockey, until they got trained by the Swedish team.
Finland was completely unprepared for this, and was stunned when the Danish team beat them.

They then tried to ridicule the Danes by saying, “You only won because Sweden helped you!”
To which the Danes responded, “Of course. How else did you think we suddenly got so good?”

So Finland’s attempt at making Sweden and Denmark mortal enemies in ice hockey failed horribly. :XD:
